Essential Tasks for New Staff
Apply for a Sponsored User Account
You must have a Sponsored User Account to register for training and to access staff sites such as the Staff Intranet and Employee Web Kiosk.
- Complete the Application Form
- Have your application form signed by a sponsor.
- Return the form to Information Technology Services

Sign in to the Employee Web Kiosk
From here you can access information regarding your job such as payroll, leave, time sheets and training. For first time users, your web user ID is your employee number and the password is your last name, all in lowercase.
Obtain your UOW ID Staff Card/Parking Sticker
The Personnel and Financial Services Receptionist can directly assist you with staff card and parking sticker enquiries.
As the Reception Counter can be quite busy, we recommend ringing 4221 5902 to make an appointment for your staff card. Human Resources and Financial Services are located on the top floor of the Administration Building, Building 36.
Register for the Getting to Know Your University Induction Program (for all staff)
Attendees must complete both the online orientation module Getting Started@UOW, and Module 1 of the EOOnline Equal Opportunity Training Program before attending, see below.
Complete the Getting Started@UOW online orientation module within your first month at UOW.
Complete the EOOnline Equal Opportunity Training Program within your first 6 months at UOW.
Sign in to the staff UOW Intranet site and familiarise yourself with the services available to staff.
Register for the Casual Academic Staff Induction Program, a compulsory session for all new casual Academic staff, tutors & demonstrators.

Familiarise yourself with the policies and services provided by the University of Wollongong's Occupational Health and Safety Unit (OHS)
Familiarise yourself with the career and professional development activities offered by the University of Wollongong's Professional & Organisational Development Services (PODS) for both Academic and General staff members.
